"Advanced Diagnosis"

Diagnostic & Treatment Philosophy for Orthodontic/Orthopedic Therapy in Growing Individuals
The highest level of orthodontic diagnosis – A course you do not want to miss.

You are promised an enthusiastic different point of view on ADDING advanced orthodontic diagnosis to your practice, EXPANDING your orthodontic knowledge or PICKING UP some innovative “pearls” for your mature orthodontic practice. This session is also beneficial to introductory students as they will better learn to incorporate the principles of Sassouni based cephalometrics.

Dr. Beistle is the innovator of the Sassouni Plus system and has been teaching with Orthodontic Studies and the USDI for nearly 20 years. He is the 2004 recipient of the prestigious “Excellence in Clinical Dentistry Award” which is presented annually by Orthodontic Studies to an outstanding dental educator. Dr. Beistle has several publications on cephalometrics and has been teaching Sassouni Plus Cephalometric seminars since 1983.

Learning Agenda… This course will focus on Diagnosis & Treatment for patients in “The Orthodontic Practice Builder Group”. Orthodontic Studies classifies this class as an Advanced Level III course.

Doctor Beistle will begin by comparing “Traditional” Orthodontics with “Contemporary” Orthodontics and then present a detailed outline of his “Contemporary” diagnostic approach, with emphasis on the “Key” to modern diagnosis, the Condition of the Maxilla.

About the Presenter: Richard T. Beistle, D.D.S. Dr. Beistle graduated from Michigan State University in 1957 with a combined B.S. degree in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics and received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Michigan in 1961. In 1974 he met and became a disciple of the late Dr. Hy Pleasant of San Bernardino, California. Subsequently, he incorporated many of the ideas of Dr. John Witzig and Dr. Merle Bean into his developing functional philosophy. Dr. Bristle is the 2004 recipient of the Dr. C.R. Gerber, Jr. Excellence in Clinical Dentistry Award. The beauty of Sassouni Plus is that it is individualized for each patient. There are no so-called norms, which are nothing more that averages derived from small population samples. Instead, Sassouni Plus is based on geometric proportion, yielding proportional results. Because of its visual nature and its lack of mathematical struggle, Sassouni Plus is the easiest cephalometric system to understand and interpret.
