Beyond Your Bottom Line
This course has been adapted and modified over 15 years of its presentation. It is a crash course in the business that most dentists know nothing about, their own. In its purest form, the course participant receives a precursor packet of financial and practice statistics to prepare prior to arrival at the course. As part of their paid tuition, they will also receive a fully operating copy of the Dentics software to download onto their laptop for use at the seminar and the next six months. In addition, they are encouraged to read “The E-Myth” by Michael Gerber. This is to insure that the participant has the necessary information to participate fully in the course. It is also recommended that the doctor and his/her chief financial person within the office attend. Many times sensitive financial information, such as salaries and debt service are revealed, so the doctor should have the correct staff member (or spouse) present.
The goals for participants of this Two Day Seminar are:
- To gain control of your practice.
- To plan for owner’s compensation.
- To plan for the productivity in the number of days that you are available to work.
- To understand what numbers you should be gathering.

During the course the participant
receives many cookbook type applications that can be taken back to
his/her office for immediate implementation. They also have the
potential to return home with their business plan, budget and schedule
of days to work completed for the upcoming year. In addition, many
participants then find it appropriate to take the other two-day course
“New Patient Exam & Consultation” as a logical follow-up. This course
explores the art and science of case acceptance through patient
education and creating a WOW experience throughout the entire new
patient enrollment process.
