Our overall mission is to provide the dental heath care provider with a broad base of diagnostic and treatment skills in the areas of orthodontics and occlusion. We want the practitioner to be able to incorporate the learned skills into his/her practice to provide the public with the finest treatment possible.

“Clinical Treatment of the TMD Pain Patient”

Instructors - Dr. Jay Gerber, Ms. Rose Nierman, RDH, Mr. Richard Greenan, Mr. Bobby Middle, lab tech, Ms. Vicka Edgar, RT, CTA and Ms. Serena Eddy, CTA, COA, Mr. Jim Combest (NMT).

Centers to be offered:

  • Appliance construction (Eddy & Middle)

  • Appliance adjustment, manipulation, modalities (Gerber)

  • Electro-diagnostics, TENS (Combest)

  • Office Management (Nierman)

  • Imaging (Greenan)

  • Physiology – Physical Medicine (Gerber)

Details - Information

  • Each doctor will rotate (every two hours and 15 minutes) between five separate centers, plus one group session for physical medicine with Dr. Gerber on Saturday afternoon.

  • Workshops are hands-on and require the purchase of a few basic supplies.  A complete list of the required supplies, texts and course workbooks will be provided upon the completion of registration. 

  • Lunch will be provided each day of the course.

  • No Videotaping allowed, but you may take photos of projects, materials and supplies. Videotapes on the use of physical modalities will be made available for purchase through Imaging Systems.

Participation projects to be held in Dr. Gerber’s office “The Center for Occlusal Studies”  

  • Appliance construction workshop: laboratory supplies will be provided. You will need to bring your models and a plaster-less articulator.

  • Clinical patient protocols: appliance adjustments, manipulations, injections, physical medicine referrals, patient management & appointment objectives.

  • Electro-diagnostics workshop using the Myotronics Instrumentation

  • Office management - consists of computer applications, insurance etc.

  • Imaging techniques using advanced tomography

  • Appliance construction – laboratory project – articulator & models required

  • Principles of multi-disciplinary care – physical medicine & physical therapy

  • You are encouraged to bring your laptop. Best with Microsoft Office.
