It is strongly recommended that you follow the sequential course
order of each track. The Educational Committee of SWOS and the
Center for Occlusal Studies has planned this educational program
through many hours of research and evaluation of past student
performances. Each program is designed to minimize your
away-from-the-office time
while maximizing your educational experience.
-
The individual goals and course objectives of each course is
outlined in that particular course description. A detailed hourly
agenda is available upon request by calling 1.800.369.0312. In most
cases we can either email or fax you immediately.
-
All courses unless otherwise noted are to be held at the modern
educational and clinical facilities of the Center for Occlusal
Studies in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

During most sessions there will be extensive use of hands-on
laboratory type projects including the construction and repair of
appliances or typodont exercises. While most materials will be
provided a complete list of supplies and/or instruments is sent upon
registration.
-
SWOS and the Center for Occlusal Studies incorporate the innovative
teaching methods of Dr. Gerber and feature NFO teaching centers in
our courses. These concepts stress active participation and
represent one of the most efficient instructional techniques.
-
Our instructors will make every effort
to review your cases when time allows during each session. You
should bring complete records for each case.
-
All of our instructors use LCD
PowerPoint for classroom presentations, videos, radiographs and scan
evaluations that show even the smallest details in classroom
presentations. You will learn the exact step-by-step techniques to
insure success. Participants will receive detailed handouts
including many of the PowerPoint slides shown in presentations.
-
Many of the instructional video tapes
used in the course of instruction are now available for purchase and
most of the software demonstrated is also available.
-
Several programs require
pre-requisites. Please refer to the specific course listing for
details. It is strongly suggested and in most cases required that
participants follow the individual tracks in order.

All full-day in-office programs at the
Center will include lunch and refreshments.
